Thinking good of Allaah

Jaabir said: I heard the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam), three days prior to his death, saying:

لاَ يَمُوتَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلاَّ وَهُوَ يُحْسِنُ بِاللَّهِ الظَّنَّ

None of you should die except while thinking the best of Allaah.

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

لا نبوة بعدي إلا المبشرات "، قال: قيل: وما المبشرات يا رسول الله؟، قال: " الرؤيا الحسنة " أو قال: " الرؤيا الصالحة

There is no al-nubuwwah [prophet-hood] after me except al-mubashshiraat. It was asked: And what is al-mubashshiraat O Messenger of Allaah? He said: A good dream or he said a virtuous dream.

[Musnad Ahmad Hadiith No. 23795]

Its chain of narrators is Sahiih. All of the people in the chain are reliable. They are the people from whom the two Shiekhs [al-Bukhaari and Muslim] narrated except for عثمان بن عبيد الراسبي who was declared reliable by يحيى بن معين and Ibn hibbaan included him in his book of reliable narrators.

Ibn Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) passed by a group of people who had placed a pigeon and were shooting [arrows] at it. Thereupon he said:

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade that things which possess a ruuh (الروح) be taken [for] target [practice].

[Musnad Ahmad and Ibn Maajah and Jaami’ al-Tirmidhi]

Its chain of narrators is Sahiih [very authentic]

When one of you invites his brother, then let him answer whether it be a wedding feast or its like.

[Sahih al-Muslim Hadith No. 1429 and Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith No. 3738]

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to never leave four [Rak’ah] prior to al-Zuhr and two [Rak’ah] prior to al-Fajr in any case.

Its chain of narrators is Sahih [based on] the condition of al-Bukhaari and Muslim.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A matron should not be given in marriage except after consulting her; and a virgin should not be given in marriage except after her permission." The people asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! How can we know her permission?" He said, "Her silence (indicates her permission).

[Sahih al-Bukhaari Hadith No. 5136]

Narrated Abu Mas'uud:

A man came and said, "O Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam), by Allah, I keep away from the morning prayer only because so and so prolongs the prayer when he leads us in it." The narrator said, "I never saw Allah's Apostle more furious in giving advice than he was at that time. He then said, "Some of you are scaring people away. So whoever among you leads the people in prayer should shorten it because among them are the weak, the old and the needy."

[Sahih al-Bukhaari Hadith No. 702]

When you face trials

Narrated Muhammad ibn Khalid as-Sulami on his father's authority who said his grandfather, who was a Companion of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam), reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) say: When Allah has previously decreed for a servant a rank which he has not attained by his action, He afflicts him in his body, or his property or his children. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Nufail added in his version: "He then enables him to endure that." The agreed version goes: "So that He may bring him to the rank previously decreed from him by Allah."
