And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred

And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred.

[Qur'aan 26:214]

On the authority of 'Abu Hurairah who said: When this Verse was revealed:

And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred.

[Qur'aan 26:214]

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) called Quraish and they gathered. Then he said: O Bani ka'b bin luwaii save yourselves from the Fire. O Bani murrah bin ka'b save yourselves from the Fire. O Bani 'Abd Shams save yourselves from the Fire. O Bani 'Abd manaaf save yourselves from the Fire. O Bani haashim save yourselves from the Fire. O Bani 'Abd al-muTTalib save yourselves from the Fire. O FaaTimah save yourself from the Fire, for indeed I do not possess [any power to protect you] from Allaah except that I would sustain relationship with you.
