Do as you are told or don't complain

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "Seek refuge with Allah from poverty, insufficiency and humiliation, and from wronging (others) and being wronged.'"

[Sunan Ibn Maajah]

We have been told to do something.

We are to seek protection from the things mentioned in the hadith.

We are to seek protection against poverty.

We are to seek protection against insufficiency

We are to seek protection against humiliation

We are to seek protection against wronging others

We are to seek protection against being wronged by others

Yet, how many of us do the above? Then, when poverty, humiliation, or insufficiency afflicts us or someone wrongs us, we complain and say O Allaah why did You do this to us?

Learn to do as you have been ordered by the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam). Otherwise, do not complain when you suffer.
