Being persistent is so important

It was narrated from Abu Salamah that he asked 'Aishah about the two prostrations (Rak'ahs) that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to pray after 'Asr. She said:

"He used to pray them before 'Asr, but if he got distracted or forgot them, he would pray them after 'Asr, and if he did a prayer he would be constant in it."

[Sunan al-Nasaa'i Hadiith No. 585]

It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:

“By the One Who took his (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) soul, he did not die until most of his prayers were offered sitting down. And the most beloved of deeds to him was a righteous deed which a person persists in doing, even if it is something small.”

[Sunan Ibn Maajah Hadiith No. 4378]

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said:

“The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘Do not be like so-and-so, who used to pray voluntary night prayers then stopped praying voluntary night prayers.”
